The Lidatek LaserECHO LE-30 is a laser transmitter which, when zapped by a laser-gun to measure the speed of your car, automatically sends it's own 5-second long laser 'ECHO' back to the gun, and prevents a speed reading from being taken for that time.
Fight laser with laser? It might sound like something straight from Star Wars, but this is the very simple concept of the LaserECHO LE-30! Lidatek actually invented this category of product back in the early 1990's when one of the first Police lasers in use anywhere in the world caught a speeding scientist on his way to work. That scientists' area of expertise? Lasers! He was obviously most intrigued as to the technology used to measure his speed that day, and upon reaching the office later that day, he set to work, and has been fine-tuning the LaserECHO design ever since. Much copied but never equalled, todays' LE-30 uses the same 904nm Gallium Arsenide laser diode that the laser guns themselves use (far superior to some of the competitor product), and is now also packaged into a tiny 'head' for easy & very stealthy mounting options - hiding within front grilles or even number-plates is now easily achieved!
The laser gun that targets your vehicle actually sends multiple timed pulses of light to a reflective surface of your car and also receives their reflections back again, its on-board computer then uses the time-difference between those readings in order to calculate your vehicle's speed. We've all been in situations where due to traffic flow or other factors our speed has inadvertantly drifted above the limit, and the LE-30's ECHO will temporarily block such a speed reading of your car for the few seconds it takes to check and adjust your speed, then it shuts down to prevent further interference with the speed measuring process - vitally important now that many speed detection sites are now reportedly logging all vehicles that give completely unmeasurable speeds for possible future legal action!
The control unit for the LE-30 itself is tiny for easy & discrete mounting within the car. An audible warning buzzer and multi-colour status LED are provided for alerting the driver during the ECHO 5-second period, as are all the brackets & mountings as well as a mini spirit-level for optimum mounting of the laser head too!
Should you wish to customise the install further, how about using extra laser heads for greater coverage? The LE-30 control unit will accommodate up to two-front mounted as well as one rear-facing head (the one provided will cover the front of most cars quite adequately, although bigger vehicles may require additional!).
How about a totally professional and stealthy install - wire into an existing warning light, such as handbrake warning light instead of using the supplied LED, or better still, connect the LE-30 via our optional interface directly into a TDS TR-30 GPS driver safety system and not only receive your laser alerts via the TR-30's display, but also enjoy coverage & alerts for all types of speed camera, congestion zones, schools, etc as well! Please note, since it could be considered that in some countries/states a device as effective as the LE-30 could be perceived as interfering with the ability of a police officer to carry out his job, Driven Marketing recommends its use only where it is safe & legal to do so, and that it is switched off should it detect any police laser transmission on the roads in the UK. Please drive safely and always within the speed limits!
